Emotional Intelligence Leads to Personal and Organizational Success

There is a strong correlation between high levels of Leadership EQ and higher employee engagement; meaning higher profitability, increased productivity, lower turn over, fewer workplace injuries and theft events, amongst many other positive benefits.

Meanwhile individuals with high EQ scores make up 90% of Top Performers and see larger salaries than their lower-EQ counterparts.  Great news!  EQ is a skill which can be developed and honed, unlike IQ which is static. Essentially EQ can help us to improve our personal and professional lives.

What is EQ?

Mayer and Salovey define emotional intelligence as "the ability to monitor one's own and other's feelings and emotions, to discriminate among them, and to use this information to guide one's thinking and action."

Bar-On defines it as "an array of noncognitive capabilities, competencies and skills that influence one's ability to succeed in coping with environmental demands and pressures."
